Dr.
Bruce is a Professor in Library and Information Science, Curriculum &
Instruction, Bioengineering, Writing Studies, and the Center for East
Asian and Pacific Studies at the
University of
Illinois
in Urbana-Champaign. He has been a member of the faculty at the
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign since 1990. His research and
teaching focus on:
Dr. Bruce's research has let to the development of educational resources
such as Inquiry Page, a collaboratory in which educators share their
knowledge of teaching and learning; Biology Student Workbench, a set of
curricular materials to support investigations in molecular biology;
Quill, an integrated computer-based writing program; Statistics
Workshop, an interactive system for learning statistical reasoning; and
Discoveries, a series of CD-ROM-based multimedia environments for
supporting students' inquiries in science and social studies. Awards
include the
College
of Education Senior Scholar Award, Faculty Fellows Award and Council of
Graduate Students Faculty Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching,
Advising, and Research.
